Will There Be a Maze Runner 4?
So far, no official announcement has been made for a fourth film in the Maze Runner series. Since the third film is based on the book series finale, The Death Cure, it is accepted that the film series has also ended at this point. Director Wes Ball also confirmed that the series has ended and made statements that there will be no fourth film.
Future Plans for the Maze Runner Universe
Although the possibility of a fourth film is low, the Maze Runner universe is not completely closed. Series fans are demanding that side stories (prequels) set in the Maze Runner world be brought to the big screen. Books such as The Kill Order and The Fever Code, especially written by James Dashner, tell the story of the series and how the maze came to be. These books could provide material for a possible spin-off film or series.
